Dear Parents & Students,

On October 14th all students in both the 10th and 11th grades will take the PSAT test here at Colegio Americano. In the past, we only have had 11th graders taking the PSAT, but this year we have decided to also have 10th graders take the test in order to be better prepared for the SAT.

The PSAT is a practice test for the SAT, which most students take for the first time in May of their junior year. The SAT can be an important factor for SOME universities in the college admissions process.

You can take the SAT as many times as you wish, but most students will take it once in their junior year and once in their senior year. If you have any questions, please ask Ray Marx, director of college counseling, at raymondmarx@yahoo.com.

Finally, we have a limited supply of books in our office which you can rent out for $20 per book. Two very useful websites are www.collegeboard.com and www.number2.com for further SAT studies.
