OF CONTRACTS:
We have two kinds of contracts
for teachers. Those teachers hired in the recruitment fairs
in the USA or Canada, are what we call “Intercultural
Exchange Hire”. Those teachers hired directly in the
school, are “local hires”.
INTERCULTURAL
EXCHANGE HIRE
TERMS OF CONTRACT: 2 years
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2 years of experience in teaching,
education or the related area
- At least a BA in the related subject
area is required. A Masters degree will be a plus.
- Teacher’s Certificate
- English native speaker
BENEFITS:
The international exchange teacher will receive a very attractive
package that includes: a very competitive salary, a round-trip

ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
Housing:
The Intercultural Exchange Teacher will be responsible for
locating his/her own apartment. Nevertheless, the school will
help him/her with buddies to assist in this process. Prices
vary depending on the neighborhood and in whether it is desired
a furnished apartment or not. The school will assign the teacher
a monthly bonus for housing.
Health Issues:
There are some significant changes that a person’s body
will experiment when he comes to Quito: altitude, food, water
and sun exposure. However, if proper precautions are taken
before he comes and is careful when he gets here, it is unlikely
he will get any serious illnesses. Before coming to Ecuador,
it is advisable to get the following vaccinations: Typhoid,
yellow fever, hepatitis, polio, tetanus, diphtheria, and measles.
Transportation:
Transportation to and from school is provided by the school
on buses. Teachers ride with the students about 30-45 minutes
each way.
Documents:
If a teacher is accepted for a teacher’s position at
our school, he/she will need to apply for a 12-VIII visa (cultural
exchange visa). Also, the school will send him/her by mail
a package that contains some documents necessary for applying
for the visa. Besides, other documents that he/she may be
asked in the Ecuadorian Consulate to obtain his/her visa are:
Valid passport
Six pictures (passport
size)
Health certificates (may
include HIV test)
Police clearance (record
or letter of good conduct from the local police)
On arrival, he/she will also
receive a settling bonus to help him/her with his/her settling
in expenses.
Upon arrival with his/her 12-VIII
visa, we will help him/her in registering it and also in obtaining
all the documents he/she will need here, like the censo, the
card for foreigners’ registration and the protocol card.
LOCAL HIRES
TERMS OF CONTRACT: According
to Ecuadorian laws.
