CLIMATE:
Ecuador has a very mild weather during all the year. In the Coast and Oriental Region, it is hot and humid. In the Mountains, it is about 18° C during the day and about 10o C to 12°C at night.

QUITO:
The capital of Ecuador is located at 2,810 m. It is a modern colonial city, with plenty of art, legends and traditions. It has always had a wide variety of painters, sculptors, musicians, poets and writers, who have been famous since the Colonial époque. The “Escuela Quiteña”, one of the most important art schools in America originated here. It dates from XVI, XVII and XVIII centuries. These art works can be admired in several museums and churches. Quito’s churches constitute one of the most interesting tourist attractions and constitute a reflect of a series of artistic expressions in baroque style of the XVI century. By all its attributes, in 1978 Quito was declared as “Human Cultural Mankind” by the UNESCO.

Only a few kilometers North from Quito is located San Antonio de Pichincha. There you can live one of the most unique experiences of your life: being in the middle of the world, where one step is enough to go from one hemisphere to the other or putting your feet in both hemispheres at the same time.

GUAYAQUIL:
It is the first commercial port of Ecuador. Its ancestral architecture combines with a modern style in the center and north part of the city. In its urban development, we can mention “Malecon 2000”, which is the most important tourist center of the city. It includes La Rotonda, The Public Clock, and the Civic Square with its museums, art gallery and ecological park, malls, restaurants and other first class services. Guayaquil offers its tourists a warm and welcoming environment. People are very open and expressive.

At a short distance from Guayaquil you can find beautiful beaches such as Salinas, Playas, Punta Blanca, Montañita and others that will make you enjoy our sea.

GALAPAGOS:
The Galapagos Islands, famous in the whole world, are at 960 Km. from the Ecuadorian continental coasts. There are 13 main islands, 6 smaller ones and almost 40 other minor islands. After the visit of Charles Darwin in 1835, they were catalogued as an “evolution laboratory”. Darwin developed here the famous theory of the species evolution.

The islands have a very varied and unique fauna in the world.

ENTERTAINMENT:
Ecuador has much to offer in a small area: Hiking, camping, climbing, watching birds are a few of the activities in which you can involve yourself. Mountains are beautiful and easily accessible. Beaches are a great getaway and easy to get to by bus, car or plane. The same goes for the cloud forest and jungle. You will enjoy your weekend trips to Baños (hot springs, day hikes, bike trips, horseback riding), Otavalo (indigenous craft market), Cotacachi (leather goods), Mindo (cloud forest, bird watching). More extensive trips may include the jungle, beach, mountains and, of course, Galapagos Islands, unique in the world!
