D. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Whole language instruction in total English immersion.
Even though there is a whole language approach it combines
an eclectic view, which includes phonics. The Preschool
Section presents learning as a whole. It is an integrated
and a meaningful experience. We believe school has to
be pleasant, stimulating and safe. Our students will
have the opportunity to work with new materials, learn
through the use of their senses, manipulate objects,
listen to new ideas, observe and experiment. Positive
reinforcement and individualized support is provided
to motivate children so that they may become independent
in their daily assignments. Our goal is for children
to enjoy learning and to have opportunities to create
and satisfy their curiosity.
The goal of the Kindergarten program is to facilitate
the development of the whole child. Throughout the school
year, children are motivated to:
- Express themselves in different ways.
- Learn to make their own decisions.
- Interact freely and appropriately with peers.
- Respect the rights of others.
- Assume self-responsibility.
- Be friendly and honest.
- Develop independent work habits.
