In order to develop our students’ creativity, the Art Department exposes them to novel and varied techniques, making use of different materials.

Students are motivated by studying popular artists, painters and well-known sculptors.

The Art Department works on interdisciplinary projects in conjunction with other areas.

Students work towards projects related to helping the community and both national and international competitions. They have attained prizes for the country and our institution, including the following,

• Gold medal at the 9th Japanese biennial competition, Seoul, 1993.
• Silver medal at the Japanese biennial competition in 1997.
• Two first places at the biennial engraving competition in Slovenia.
• Two honorable mentions at the 12th Japanese biennial competition in 2002.
• Annual participation in Christmas card making for the “El cambio por el cambio” foundation.

As art teachers, our objective is to foster individual criteria in the children, widen their knowledge of culture and encourage creativity.
