The main objective of the Guidance
Department is to provide a healthy development of the
students throughout their adolescence process. The guidance
counselors work very closely with the students both
individually and as a group.
- The counselors provide support with the emotional
needs of the students and/or their families.
- Develop prevention programs for risky situations
and behaviors.
- Learning skills and constructive channeling of
affections are exercised
- Conflict mediation mechanisms are established
- Education programs are developed for: love, vocational
and a life project
- Students exercise their leadership skills
- The CRECER (Growth) program is developed for
differentiated education in the classroom
Programs
Group guidance:
The Guidance Department has six Guidance
Counselors, one per each grade and work one hour weekly
with each parallel on various topics established by
the guidance curriculum and created according to the
development of each group.
Some of these
topics are:
- Adolescence and biological and psycho-affective
changes
- Affections and positive affective relationships
in adolescence
- Taking care of oneself and risky situations
- Human values among young people
- Self-knowledge and building a life project
- Career and vocational guidance (University Fair,
Career day)
- Workshops, conferences and meetings for parents
and teachers.
- Develop leadership program in classroom and workshops,
throughout the scholar year, to improve leadership
skills.

CRECER (Growth)
Program:
This program was established seven
years ago with objective of incorporating strategies
to take care of students' learning differences in the
classroom.
The Program integrates knowledge, respect and channeling
of multiple intelligences', different learning styles,
affective components, and flexibility in contents, process
and product within the curriculum.
