Welcome to the 2011 SAAC Basketball Tournament in Quito

The American School of Quito will host the South American Athletic Conference, SAAC, and welcomes its members from Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay for the basketball tournament held on March 31st to April 2nd. The following schools will participate: Lincoln School, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Nido de Aguilas, Santiago de Chile, Colegio Roosevelt, Lima, Peru and the Uruguayan American School, Montevideo, Uruguay.

The purpose of the South American Athletic Conference (SAAC) is to encourage participation in interscholastic athletics, develop students’ abilities, sportsmanship and the concept of team play.

The SAAC offers students not only the opportunity to display their talents but to share in the cultural exchange of ideas, cooperation and tolerance. We believe that by participating in athletics our student/athletes will develop the necessary tools to become proactive, world citizens and will maintain positive lifelong habits.
