Board of Directors

The American School of Quito is a non-profit private school governed by a Board of Directors. The Board is the policy-making body of the School. This group of volunteer parents and teachers are tasked with:

• hiring, nurturing, and evaluating the Director General who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school,

• developing strategic plans, ensuring their implementation, and monitoring progress,

• developing and approving school policies,

• ensuring the financial health of the school,

• leading and supporting governance as part of leadership training,

• providing leadership to support and drive institutional fundraising.

The Board is composed of nine principal members and nine alternate members, appointed by the General Assembly. Each member shall serve for a term of four years.
